at present, Sinopec alone has two sets of ethylene production units, with an annual capacity of 1.22 million tons, ranking first in China, higher than that of Tianjin Petrochemical, Shanghai Secco Petrochemical, Zhenhai Refining & Chemical and Fujian Refining & Chemical in the East

Sinopec's ten million ton oil refining and one million ton ethylene project is a landmark project of China's western development and the first largest refining and petrochemical integration project in China. In 2009, it was selected into the "100 classic and excellent projects for the 60th anniversary of the founding of new China" together with the Qinghai Tibet railway, the Three Gorges Project and the National Stadium

since the 1990s, Sinopec ethylene production has achieved "three-stage jump": on August 6, 1995, the cracking unit of the 140000 ton ethylene project began to feed, realizing the first leap from scratch; On september12,2002, the annual 220000 ton ethylene reconstruction and expansion project was successfully completed and put into operation, realizing the second leap of "from small to medium"; On September 21, 2009, the ten million ton oil refining and one million ton ethylene project was completed and put into operation, realizing the third leap of "from medium to large". From 1995 to 2014, Sinopec alone produced 9.2128 million tons of ethylene. After the 140000 ton ethylene project was put into operation in 1995, 120000 tons of ethylene will be produced in the second year, which is equivalent to the level of similar ethylene plants from the third year to the fifth year. From 2012 to 2014, the actual ethylene output of Sinopec alone exceeded the design level, reaching 1.32 million tons in 2013, which should rank first in China according to specific conditions, exceeding the design level by 8.2%, accounting for 8.13% of the total ethylene output in China

the annual output of 1.22 million tons of ethylene in Sinopec is composed of 23 sets of main production units, all of which adopt DCS distributed control system. The technology of the main production units is at the leading level in China, with a total of 75 products developed and produced, realizing the large-scale and high-end resin products and the seriation and differentiation of rubber products

Sinopec attaches great importance to environmental protection. It has won the titles of "national plant with beautiful environment", "national advanced enterprise in environmental protection" and the first batch of "national environment-friendly enterprises". Its overall efficiency ranks first among large-scale refining and chemical enterprises of PetroChina, and its main economic and technical indicators remain ahead of the industry. In 2013 and 2014, it won the first place in the energy efficiency of national ethylene production enterprises for two consecutive years

Sinopec is the "hen" that incubates the golden eggs of petrochemical products in Xinjiang. At present, it provides raw materials for more than 500 enterprises in Xinjiang, and supplies more than 90% of the raw materials to the plastic and rubber markets in Xinjiang, injecting strong impetus into the construction of the core area of the silk Road Economic Belt in Xinjiang. In 2014, Xinjiang ranked sixth in the country in terms of ethylene production, becoming a major ethylene production region
